Today, the first medalists of the U-17 European Wrestling Championship in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, are being determined.
Idman.biz reports that 3 members of the Azerbaijani national team competed for medals in Greco-Roman wrestling.
All three of our athletes managed to take a place on the podium.

Gurban Majnunov, who lost in the semi-finals, faced Nikolaos Zinisa (Greece) for the bronze. Our representative, who won with a score of 4:1, won the first medal for our team at the European Championship.

Nijat Yeylagaliyev competed against Frederik Abrahamsson for the bronze medal. Our wrestler won a clean victory with a score of 10:0 and took 3rd place on the podium.

Rihad Ibrahimli competed for the gold medal. His opponent was Denis Lazarov (Bulgaria). Rihad, who won with a score of 7:0, won the title of European champion.
