The main goal for Azerbaijani wrestlers at the "Tallinn Open" tournament held among teenagers in Estonia was not the result, but learning.
This was stated by Maria Stadnik, the head coach of the U-17 national team of girls, in her statement.
She said that the competition was of a preparatory nature for the European Championship.
"The main goal for the girls was not the result, but learning. It was important to see their condition during the competition, to better understand their psychology and to determine an individual approach to each of them. This tournament was a very good experience for our wrestlers. I can say that I am satisfied with them. Because they fought to the end," she said in a statement to report.az.
M.Stadnik added that after the "Tallinn Open" tournament, they participated in a training camp in the mentioned country.
It should be reminded that Azerbaijani wrestlers won 5 medals at the "Tallinn Open" tournament. Fatima Bayramova (53 kg) became the champion. Nazrin Ahmadli (49 kg), Rana Nuriyeva (61 kg) and Simura Abdullayeva (69 kg) won silver, and Khadija Gurbanzade (49 kg) won bronze medals.
