Taleh Israfilov, the head coach of the Azerbaijani U-17 Greco-Roman wrestling team, commented on the team's performance at the European Championship held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.

"We had certain difficulties, but we overcame them. Almost 50 percent of the team won medals. We will clarify the plans for preparation for the World Championship with the management. More information will be given about this later," the expert said.
It should be noted that Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers finished the U-17 European Championship with 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. Abdurrahman Huseynli (45 kg) and Rihad Ibrahimli (110 kg) became European champions. Ali Nazarov (60 kg) won a silver medal. Gurban Majnunov (48 kg) and Nijat Yeylagaliyev (80 kg) took third place.
Our national team finished third in the team standings with 116 points.
