Azerbaijani beach wrestlers have been remembered with their successful performance in the final matches of the U17 European Championship.
Idman.Biz reports that Eljan Hasanov defeated Ukrainian Kiril Nagirniy 4:0 in the final and became the European champion.
In another final, Ruslan Veliyev defeated our compatriot Elvin Hajiguliyev 3:0. As a result, Ruslan Veliyev won the title of U17 European Beach Wrestling Champion, while Elvin Hajiguliyev finished the competition with a silver medal.
Rashad Aliyev also tested his strength in the final match. The Azerbaijani wrestler lost to Georgian Ioane Skhiladze 0:4 and won a silver medal at the U17 European Championship.
Thus, Azerbaijani representatives completed the final stage with two gold and two silver medals.

Azerbaijani athletes continue their successful performances at the U-17 European Beach Wrestling Championship.
Idman.Biz reports that three members of the national team have reached the final. Eljan Hasanov, Rashad Aliyev and Elvin Hajiguliyev defeated their opponents in a row and qualified for the decisive match.
In the 60 kg weight category, Eljan Hasanov first beat our compatriot Alirza Heybatli 2:1 in the group stage. He then defeated Serbian Nikola Petrović 3:0 and Greek Ioannis Kesidis 4:1. Hasanov defeated Moldovan Viktor Vdovin 3:0 in the next stage and reached the semi-finals. On the way to the final, he won a 3:0 victory over Ukrainian Denis Vitko.
Alirza Heybatli, who competed in this weight, also won two victories in the group. He beat Ioannis Kesidis 4:1 and Nikola Petrović 3:0. However, he lost to Georgian Tariel Saatashvili 1:3 in the 1/4 final.
Rashad Aliyev drew attention with his brilliant performance in the 70 kg category. He first defeated Georgian Zuka Tsinamdzgvrishvili 3:2. He then defeated Serbian Andrey Rajacic 5:0, Moldovan Pavel Mavrodi 3:1 and Romanian Istvan Nagi 3:1. Aliyev defeated Ukrainian Nazar Mudrini 3:0 and reached the semi-finals. On the way to the decisive stage, he won a 3:1 victory over Ukrainian representative Mikita Kuzmenko.
In the 80 kg category, Elvin Hajiguliyev also confidently passed all his matches. In the group, he defeated Moldovan Laurentsiu Drobot 3:0, Maxim Deleu 3:0 and Georgian Saba Zoidze 3:0. Hajiguliyev then won a 4:0 victory over Ukrainian Vladislav Martsev and reached the final.
Ruslan Veliyev also performed successfully in the same weight. He defeated Georgian Luka Maysuradze 3:0, Croatian Emanuel Grgica 3:0, and Ukrainian Dmitro Holovenko 4:0 in the third round.
Tural Eynullayev and Mohlat Gasimov competed in the 90 kg. Eynullayev defeated Georgian Saba Papashvili 3:2, Ukrainian Matviy Grihorenko 3:0, but lost to Ukrainian Artem Zalvovskiy 0:3.
Mohlat Gasimov defeated Greek Dimitrios Dermendzis 4:2, and Andreas Kteniadakis 3:0 in the third round. He lost to Moldovan Evgen Dohoter 0:4 in the second round.
Thus, the Azerbaijani national team retains its medal chance with three finalists at the U-17 European Championship. Eljan Hasanov, Rashad Aliyev and Elvin Hajiguliyev will compete for the gold medal.
