6 of our 7 representatives who took to the mat climbed to the podium. In Greco-Roman wrestling, Nihad Guluzade (60 kg) and Muhammad Shukurzade (67 kg) won silver medals, and Lachin Valiyev (87 kg) won a bronze medal. In women's wrestling, Elnura Mammadova (53 kg) won a silver medal, and Nargiz Samadova (53 kg) and Birgul Soltanova (62 kg) won bronze medals.
It should be noted that Asmar Cankurtaran (50 kg) and Gultekin Shirinova (55 kg) finished fifth on the first day of the competition. Freestyle wrestling will take place in the last 2 days of the tournament.
