The Greco-Roman wrestler of Azerbaijan, Nijat Yeylagaliyev (80 kg), commented on winning a bronze medal at the European Championship held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.
Idman.biz reports that the wrestler said in his statement to "Report" that he made certain mistakes.
He hopes to show a better result at the upcoming world championship: "The competition was very strong. In fact, I could have reached the final and become a champion. But I lost because of my own mistake. I hope that I will achieve a better result at the world championship."
It should be noted that the Greco-Roman wrestlers of Azerbaijan finished the U-17 European Championship with 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. Abdurrahman Huseynli (45 kg) and Rihad Ibrahimli (110 kg) became European champions. Ali Nazarov (60 kg) won a silver medal. Gurban Majnunov (48 kg) and Nijat Yeylagaliyev (80 kg) took third place.
