Khabib Nurmagomedov, the former UFC lightweight champion and Hall of Fame member, has announced his plans to organize a prestigious wrestling tournament in Abu Dhabi in November. Sport24.az reports that four athletes in each weight category will participate in the competition.
Among them will be world champions and Olympic winners. Of particular interest is that the organizers plan to bring together Iranian Amir Azarpira, American Kyle Snyder, Kyrgyz wrestler Akhmed Tazhudinov, and also Abdulrashid Sadulaev in the 97 kg weight category.
Nurmagomedov said that work is currently underway on the tournament: "There will be four people in each weight category. I think it will be very interesting. We have already agreed on the arena with the Ministry of Sports, and a final meeting with the Ministry of Tourism remains. If everything goes according to plan, the tournament will be held on November 20-21."
