Azerbaijan's Wrestling Team for the U-20 World Championship Announced

The U-20 World Championship will be held in Samokov, Bulgaria, from August 17 to 24.

Idman.biz reports that 23 wrestlers will represent our country at the world championship, which will be held at the Samokov Arena.

Freestyle wrestlers will take to the mat on the first days of the competition. Under the leadership of head coach Arif Abdullayev, coaches Rovshan Hajiyev, Nazim Alijanov, and Ashraf Aliyev, Vasif Baghirov (57 kg), Farhad Hajiyev (61 kg), Agha Gasimov (65 kg), Nurlan Aghazadeh (70 kg), Aghanazar Novruzov (74 kg), Muradkhan Omarov (79 kg), Tabriz Bayramov (86 kg), Anar Jafarli (92 kg), Ravan Musayev (97 kg), and Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) will try to achieve success.

Later, in women's wrestling, acting head coach Togrul Asgarov and head coach Rovshan Umudov will lead Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg), Ruzanna Mammadova (62 kg), and Zahra Karimzadeh (72 kg) into the competition.

In the last days of the World Championship, the baton will pass to Greco-Roman wrestlers. Under the leadership of head coach Nureddin Rajabov, coaches Emin Ahmadov, Turaj Huseynli, and Zohrab Abbasov, Turan Dashdamirov (55 kg), Aykhan Javadov (60 kg), Tural Ahmadov (63 kg), Farayim Mustafayev (67 kg), Seymur Gasimov (72 kg), Davud Mammadov (77 kg), Elmin Aliyev (82 kg), Orkhan Hajiyev (87 kg), Ismayil Rzayev (97 kg), and Mazaim Mardanov (130 kg) will represent our country.

The meetings will start every day at 11:00 Baku time. The matches for medals will start at 19:00.

Judges of the 1st category - Kamran Aliyev and Bashir Isazadeh - will protect justice in the responsible competition.
