Azerbaijani wrestlers, who successfully performed at the European Championship held in Albania, have returned to their homeland.
Idman.Biz reports that the national freestyle wrestling team won 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals, taking first place in the team score. The team was met at Heydar Aliyev International Airport by fans, the public and media representatives.

It should be noted that Azerbaijani wrestlers won a total of 13 medals at the competition held in Tirana. Ali Tsokayev (92 kg) and Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg) became European champions by winning in the final. Turan Bayramov (74 kg) and Arseniy Djioyev (86 kg) won silver medals. Nureddin Novruzov (61 kg) lost in the match for third place.

Previously, Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) and Gurban Gurbanov (82 kg) in Greco-Roman wrestling were also awarded the title of European Champion. Rashad Mammadov (55 kg), Nihat Mammadli (60 kg) and Islam Abbasov (87 kg) won bronze medals. The national Greco-Roman wrestling team also took first place in the team score.
