Azerbaijani freestyle wrestlers have won a set of medals on the last day of the U-17 European Championship held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.
"Report" informs that the winners in 45, 51, 60, 71 and 92 kg were determined today.
Omar Usubov (45 kg) lost to Armenian Aren Piruzyan with a score of 2:12 in the bronze medal match and finished in 5th place.
Ramal Mirhuseynov (51 kg) managed to beat Turkish Buğra Kavak in the consolation match, albeit with difficulty – 2:1. In the match for the bronze medal, our compatriot showed his strength to Armenian Vahan Azaryan – 10:6.
Hasan Hasanov (60 kg) lost to Ukrainian Zorab Aloyev in a tense fight in the final with a minimal difference (4:5) and won a silver medal.
Said Pashayev (92 kg) faced Russian Abdurazak Shabanov in the decisive match. Pashayev, who won the breathtaking fight with a score of 6:5, became the European champion again. It is interesting that Said, who won the title of the strongest on the continent in Greco-Roman wrestling last year, achieved the same success in freestyle wrestling this time.
Thus, our national team finished the European Championship with 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. It should be reminded that Ravan Hasanzadeh (48 kg) and Ruslan Alizade (55 kg) became champions yesterday, and Hakim Tagiyev (110 kg) took the third place.
