The performance of Greco-Roman wrestlers at the U-17 European Championship in Skopje has come to an end.
Idman.biz reports that the Azerbaijani team took 3rd place in the team standings.
Our Greco-Roman wrestlers finished the European Championship with 5 medals. Our national team added 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals to its tally. Abdurrahman Huseynli (45 kg) and Rihad Ibrahimli (110 kg) took the highest step of the podium. Ali Nazarov (60 kg) won silver, and Gurban Majnunov (48 kg) and Nijat Yeylagaliyev (80 kg) won bronze. With these results, the Azerbaijani team took 3rd place in the team standings with 116 points. Armenia (135 points) and Georgia (122 points) took the first two places.
It should be noted that our Greco-Roman wrestling team became European champion in 2021, 2022 and 2024, and took second place in 2023.
