Our teams of girls and boys successfully performed at the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA) Championship among beach volleyball players under 20, held in Vilnius, Lithuania, and qualified for the 1/4 finals. Sport24.az reports that Azerbaijan is represented by two girls' and two boys' pairs in the tournament, which started today. In the boys' competition, the pair of Ibrahim Mammadov and Muhammad Aslanli defeated the Armenian team with a score of 2:0 and secured a ticket to the 1/4 finals.
Khadija Hadizade and Jamila Bashirova, who defeated the Georgian representatives with a score of 2:1 in the preliminary stage, also advanced to the next stage. In the 1/4 finals, which will be held tomorrow, our girls will face the hosts.
It should be noted that the competition will end on June 29. The teams that take the first three places will qualify for the European Championship.
