24-time "Grand Slam" champion Novak Djokovic of Serbia has admitted to pressuring the umpire at the "US Open 2025" during the quarter-final match against American Taylor Fritz because of the noisy fans.
İdman.biz reports that the match ended with Djokovic's victory with a score of 3:1 (6:3, 7:5, 3:6, 6:4).
"During the game, sometimes the fans were preventing me from continuing the game by shouting, applauding and clapping. Sometimes they were interfering very badly and it was irritating me. Finally, the umpire spent 15 minutes to calm them down. After he did that, everything was fine. I wasn't pressuring him for fun, the umpire simply had to do his job," Djokovic said.
