III CIS Games: Azerbaijani women's table tennis players in the final, men will play in the 1/4 finals

The table tennis competition within the framework of the III CIS Games started today at the Gabala Olympic Sports Complex.

Idman.biz reports that on the first day, the Azerbaijani women's team defeated Uzbekistan 2:1 in the semi-finals.

The team will face the Russian national team in the final.

The Azerbaijani men's national team will meet Uzbekistan in the 1/4 finals today.

The winner of this pair will face Kazakhstan in the semi-finals.

The winners of the semi-finals will face each other in the final the next day. The losers will be the bronze medalists of the III CIS Games.

The first competition at the III CIS Games organized in Azerbaijan will start today.

Idman.biz reports that table tennis players will start fighting in Gabala today.

The table tennis competition will be held at the Gabala Olympic Sports Complex.

It should be noted that 1624 athletes and 2337 representatives from 13 countries will participate in the competition. It has been confirmed that Azerbaijan will be represented by 340 athletes, Pakistan by 4, Russia by 262, Uzbekistan by 254, Belarus by 240, Kazakhstan by 147, Tajikistan by 144, Kyrgyzstan by 126, Turkmenistan by 48, Turkey by 38, Cuba by 11, Kuwait by 6, and Oman by 4.

The competitions will be organized in 12 venues in 23 sports (archery, badminton, 3x3 basketball, boxing, canoeing, chovgan, fencing, football U-16, Greco-Roman wrestling, judo, karate, rhythmic gymnastics, rowing, sambo, shooting, stand shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, trampoline gymnastics, volleyball, women's wrestling, freestyle wrestling).

The III CIS Games will be held in seven cities of Azerbaijan - Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Shaki, Goygol and Khankendi. The opening ceremony will take place on September 28, and the closing ceremony will take place on October 8 at the Ganja city stadium.
