Former world number three and captain of the Spanish national team, David Ferrer, was angered by the actions of Danish player Holger Rune, the world's 11th-ranked player, during the Spain vs. Denmark match at the "Davis Cup 2025".
İdman.biz reports that Ferrer was dissatisfied with Rune's behavior in the match against Spaniard Pedro Martinez. Rune lost the match with a score of 1:6, 6:4, 6:7 (3:7). After the match, Holger did not shake the referee's hand.
After this, an agitated Ferrer addressed the referee directly.
"Listen to me. In the first set, he insulted the fans, and you didn't punish him. Don't even think about telling me anything! I'm talking to you in Spanish because you understand me perfectly. He wasn't punished from the beginning, and then he insulted the fans," Ferrer said.
The Spanish team won the match against Denmark with a score of 3:2. It should be noted that after the first day, the Danes were leading 2:1.
