Matvey Ponomarenko, the attacker of 'Dinamo', shared his impressions of the 1:0 victory over 'Karabakh' in the first match of the third qualifying round of the Conference League. According to Sport24.az, the author of the winning goal commented on the club's website:
"It's good that we won. But we made a lot of mistakes that we need to fix. I think we need to play with the ball more. We will work on it. We are happy to have won today. The team will prepare for the next match in high spirits. I believe we will win in Baku and advance further".
The forward also shared his thoughts on the episode where he scored:
"I saw that we were able to take the ball in the center of the field and create a good opportunity for a quick counterattack. I saw that the ball was coming towards me, I felt that I could score, I ran and sent it to the goal. Thank God, the ball went in and I broke my goalless streak. I hope this match will be a step forward for me and I will be able to take advantage of the opponent's mistakes in every match. The head coach thanked me for the goal and the game".
It is worth noting that the return match between the teams will be held in Baku on August 13.
