Israeli club Maccabi (Tel Aviv) has announced the amount it wants for Helio Varela, who is of interest to Karabakh. According to the information obtained by Sport24.az, the representative of Tel Aviv intends to earn 4 million euros from the transfer of the 24-year-old winger.
So far, the offers received for the player have not exceeded 3 million euros.
The Turkish club Samsunspor and the Serbian club Srvena Zvezda also want to add the Cabo Verde national team player to their squad. However, Maccabi's demand for 4 million euros is currently the main obstacle to the transfer.
It seems that Varela's transfer to Karabakh for this amount will not take place. Because the Agdam representative is not going to pay 4 million euros for the 24-year-old football player.
Helio Varela was also in the spotlight this year at the 2026 World Cup. He scored the equalizing goal for his team in the historic 2-2 draw with Uruguay in the group stage, earning Cape Verde a point in the match.
