“Tractor” club is facing the risk of disqualifi cation in the Asian Champions League. According to Sport24.az, the Representative ofTabriz has stated that if the authorities of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) do not permit a direct landing toAl-Ain city with an aircraft belonging to “ATA Air”, they will not go to the match.
The sanctions imposed on Iranian airlines in recent periods have drastically made it more difficult for clubs from this country to travel in international matches. While the other representative “Eskhatai” agreed to fly to Dubai on a state-owned special aircraft by paying an additional fee, “Tractor” administration refused to make this payment.
It should be noted that the Tabriz club had to travel for 20 hours along the route of Tabriz – Tehran – Najaf – Baghdad – Muscat for the last away match. If the UAE side does not permit the direct flight, and “Tractor” refuses to travel, the team will face a penalty of exclusion from the tournament.
