UEFA is launching disciplinary proceedings against "Lans" due to the behavior of its fans during the match held against "Brugge" within the framework of the UEFA Champions League. Sport24.az reports that the "L'Équipe" newspaper provided this information.
According to the source, fans of the French club lit a significant number of pyrotechnic devices and torches in the section reserved for away fans. Due to the resulting smoke, referee Luis Godinho had to temporarily suspend the match.
"Lans" may face sanctions such as a heavy fine and the exclusion of its fans from future away matches.
UEFA's disciplinary body will also consider this a repeat offense. This is because, in the away match held on September 10 against Prague's "Sparta," which ended with a 3:2 victory for "Lans," the club's fans also used a large number of pyrotechnic devices and torches in the away section.
It is worth noting that the French representative lost to the Belgian club with a score of 0:3.
