On June 4, the opening ceremony of the final stage of the "Swimming for Everyone" project, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation, was held at the Baku Aquatics Palace. Sport24.az reports that first, the State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.
Then, the memory of the heroes who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov and President of the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation Zaur Aliyev spoke at the event.
After the opening ceremony, the competitions officially started. Athletes from Azerbaijan and Turkey are competing in the final stage. The Azerbaijani team is represented in the competitions by participants from the cities of Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, Lankaran, and Mingachevir, as well as the Goranboy, Balakan, and Ismayilli regions.
In today's competitions, athletes are competing for medals in the 10–11, 12–13, 14–15, 46–50, 51–55, 56–60, and over 61 age categories.
It should be noted that the competition will conclude tomorrow.
