Spain's Real Madrid is preparing to be represented again in full at the Ballon d'Or award ceremony after a two-year hiatus.
İdman.Biz, citing France's L'Équipe publication, reports that the Madrid representative is expected to send a sizable delegation to the ceremony to be held in London on October 26.
It is reported that the delegation will also include several footballers who were nominated for the award. However, the club has not yet officially announced the list of people who will attend the ceremony.
It is worth noting that Real Madrid boycotted the ceremony held in Paris in 2024 after learning that their Brazilian forward, Vinícius Júnior, would not win the Ballon d'Or. That year, the award was presented to Rodri, the midfielder for the Spanish national team and Manchester City.
The Madrid club did not participate with an official delegation in the award ceremony in 2025 either.
However, the situation has begun to change this year. In September, Real Madrid announced on its official website that Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, Jude Bellingham, and Marc Cucurella were nominated for the Ballon d'Or. This step was rated as a sign of de-escalation in the club's relations with the award's organizers.
Note that the 70th Ballon d'Or presentation ceremony will be held at the Palace Theatre in London on October 26. The event will start at 23:59 Baku time.
