New dates have been set for the "SportAccord" Convention, one of the most prestigious events in the global sports community, to be held in Baku.
İdman.Biz reports that the Baku City Circuit has released information about this.
It was announced that the event, which brings together more than 120 international federations, will be organized next year from May 9-13.
In accordance with the changes made to the dates planned for 2026, "SportAccord" and its partners in Azerbaijan have worked closely to determine new dates in order to organize the event at the highest level for all participants. Thus, the capital Baku will become a special platform for one of the most anticipated conventions of recent years, bringing together the International Olympic Committee, international federations, host cities, media and broadcasting partners, as well as leading representatives of the sports industry.
President of "SportAccord" Uğur Erdener said that Baku is of particular importance to him: "I am sure that this city will organize the next event of our convention at the highest level. The cooperation shown by our Azerbaijani partners during this process should be especially noted. We continue to further develop the role and importance of the convention for the global sports movement. In this regard, the event will also be an important milestone for "SportAccord".
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov, said that Baku, as the "World Sports Capital", is ready for this prestigious event: "Azerbaijan is looking forward to welcoming the international sports community and hosting this event, which reflects its continued partnership with "SportAccord". We are confident that May 9-13 will be remembered as an important milestone for the future of international sports."
"SportAccord" also continues to work on a number of initiatives during the current year, and additional innovations are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. At the same time, the organization is in discussions with several other cities regarding future events of the convention, and it is planned to announce additional host cities for the coming years.
It should be reminded that the convention was previously planned to be held on May 24–28 this year.
