First League representative "Mingəçevir" won its first victory of the season by defeating "Xankəndi" in a match held yesterday as part of the sixth round of the said championship.
Idman.Biz, citing fanat.az, reports that before the match, the management of the regional club put an end to the partnership with the businessmen who took "the lighthousers" under their patronage this summer.
Vüqar Hüseynzadə, who left the position of executive director of "the lighthousers" at the end of the last season, has returned to the regional representative. He stated that the difficulties arising from the installment payment of the debt remaining from 2025/2026 will be resolved and the situation will stabilize. After Hüseynzade's arrival, the players were also promised that their salaries would be paid on time in the future.
Regarding head coach Elman Sultanov, brought to the team by the previous investors, it is also possible that he will be removed from his position. Sultanov's fate will be clarified in the near future.
