TASHKENT, Uzbekistan – The international "Tashkent Hockey Cup 2026" tournament, held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, from May 2–3, concluded with a remarkable result for Azerbaijani hockey. The "Baku Flames" team, representing our country, won the silver medals of the tournament after a fierce competition.

"Baku Flames", established in 2023 with amateur status, attracted attention with its team spirit and technical preparation demonstrated throughout the tournament. Our team, confidently advancing to the final, faced the host "Tashkent Capitals" in the decisive match. Losing to its opponent in the tense final game, our representative rose to the second step of the podium.
For the team's management and players, this success is just the beginning. The main mission of "Baku Flames" is to increase interest in winter sports in Azerbaijan, popularize hockey among young people, and promote a healthy lifestyle. This experience gained in the international arena is considered an important step in increasing the skills of our local hockey players and strengthening Azerbaijan's position on the hockey map.
