Swedish swimmer Sarah Sjöström, a three-time Olympic champion, gave birth to her son in an ambulance.
Lent.az reports that a few hours before the birth, the athlete was in one of the Stockholm hospitals, but doctors sent her home. When contractions started at home, Sjöström called the maternity ward and was advised to go to the hospital by ambulance.
"The road to the hospital seemed endless. The child was born in an ambulance in front of the children's reception. It was both a scary and magical moment. My son was born healthy," Sjöström said.
The 32-year-old Swedish swimmer has won a total of six Olympic medals, including three gold, two silver and one bronze. She is also a 14-time world champion.
