Azerbaijani judoka Ushanqi Kokauri won a bronze medal at the Grand Slam tournament held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Sport24.az reports that the athlete took third place in the +100 kg weight category.
He defeated Yur Spijker, the representative of the Netherlands, with an ippon in the decisive match and climbed to the honorary podium.
Other members of the team - Ahmad Yusifov (60 kg), Murad Fatiyev (90 kg) and Jamal Gamzatkhanov (+100 kg) finished the tournament in 5th place.
It should be noted that Murad Fatiyev, who won the first three matches, could not continue the fight in the semi-final stage due to an injury.
