At the world judo championship for veterans held in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Azerbaijani team's active roster added another 2 gold medals.
İdman.Biz reports that in the M5 age category, Babek Hajiyev (60 kg) and Movlud Miraliyev (100 kg) won all their matches and became world champions.
Both judokas have won the world veteran gold medal for the fourth time in their careers.
Previously, Məmmədəli Mehdiyev (100 kg) won gold, while Əbülfət İsmayılov (60 kg), Mahir Abbasov (81 kg), Coşqun Abdullayev (90 kg), Şıxrəcəb Şıxmuradov, Əhməd Məmmədov (both 73 kg) and Anar Ağayev (90 kg) earned bronze medals.
Thus, the number of medals won by the Azerbaijani team at the World Championship has reached 9 – 3 gold and 6 bronze. Our team currently ranks 6th among 65 countries.
