The Azerbaijani national junior judo team started the mixed team competition of the World Championships held in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, with a victory.
According to information from a "Report" employee dispatched to the tournament, the team faced Georgia in the 1/8 final stage.
The Azerbaijani team defeated their opponent with a score of 4:2, securing a place in the 1/4 finals.
It should be noted that Azerbaijani judokas previously finished the individual competition with two bronze medals. Anar Guliyev (50 kg) and Zeyd Alasgarov (60 kg) won bronze awards.
