Various fields related to sports medicine are developing widely in Azerbaijan. Many specialists have been involved in the work over the years.
According to Idman.Biz, one of these specialists was the Bulgarian physiotherapist Erkhan Huseynov, who worked at the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation for six years. He spoke about the place that period occupied in his career.
Huseynov said that he received the offer in 2015:
"I went to Baku for a trial period, but in the second week of my arrival in the country, I already received an official offer from the Gymnastics Federation. The Federation created all kinds of guarantees and helped me and my family to settle down. My older son was going to kindergarten, and my younger one was only ten months old at the time. So we stayed in Baku for six years," said E. Huseynov.
The specialist recalls his work experience in Azerbaijan with special affection:
"That period gave me a lot. I learned a lot from the team - this is world-class sports and medicine. Working in the national team is a great responsibility, and the team consisted of specialists from different countries who are well-known names in our profession. The Federation paid special attention to the care of the staff: we participated in various trainings, seminars and courses, and were involved in events related to both our work and language learning. It was clear that my qualities were valued. I encountered various types of pathologies. I further developed and enriched the sports medicine base I had acquired in Turkey and Austria in Azerbaijan. The scope of work was very wide - I became familiar with various cases, as well as modern treatment methods, and I am still trying to apply them in my practice," said the physiotherapist in an interview with the Bulgarian "Telegraph" agency.
Huseynov recalled that during his time in Azerbaijan, he had the opportunity to travel a lot thanks to the national team's performances at European and world championships:
"This was another great advantage - a modern person should travel, see other cultures, and meet different people. This opens up a person, shapes him as an individual and as a professional," he noted.
After six years, the Bulgarian physiotherapist decided to return to his homeland, despite the high level of living and professional environment in Azerbaijan:
"We discussed our future as a family again, because we did not initially intend to stay abroad permanently. My main goal was to broaden my children's horizons, introduce them to the world and help them learn languages. But the children were growing up: my older son was already in the fifth grade, and my younger one had to go to school. If we had stayed in Baku for another 4-5 years, it would not have been possible to return, because the children's environment would have already formed in Azerbaijan. Then I would have had to stay in the country as well. Moreover, our parents live in Bulgaria, and this factor ultimately prevailed," recalled E. Huseynov.
According to him, the federation wanted to continue cooperation and was ready to help in every matter, but understood the family's personal motives and supported the decision. Currently, Huseynov operates in his hometown of Targovishte (city in Romania - ed.).
