Darya Klishina, a well-known Russian long jumper, has stated that the authorities have taken back the apartment that was once gifted to her in the city of Tver, and that she is currently unregistered.
İdman.Biz reports that the athlete spoke about this in an interview with sports journalist Viktor Kravchenko.
According to her, the apartment was presented to her by local authorities in 2011 and could be transferred to private ownership under certain conditions.
Klishina stated that, according to the conditions, the apartment should have been registered in her name in case of participation in the Olympic Games, winning a medal at the World Championship, or completing a certain period of service. According to the athlete, she was told at the time that this process would be resolved without any problems.
However, the situation turned out differently. Klishina stated in her statement that the apartment was taken back from her and deregistered:
"I can call myself homeless now because I am not registered. They said that I must be an active athlete to privatize the apartment. As a result, I had to hand over the keys. The apartment was given to a soldier."
