Tofiq Mikayilov: "If we want, we can beat any opponent"

Azerbaijan's futsal team can win against any opponent.

This was stated by team member Tofig Mikayilov in an interview with "Report".

The experienced futsal player said that the preparation process was at a high level:

"The preparation is based on tactical exercises. Although there are a few experienced players in the squad, most are young. It is important to hold such training camps often in order for the team to form and prepare well for the games. The last games with Denmark showed that if we want and fight to the end, we can win against any opponent."

He also touched upon the games with the Georgian and Kazakh national teams, which they will face in test matches:

"We recently played against the Georgian national team during Vitali Borisov's coaching period. True, these are friendly matches, but the result is important for us. We had not been able to win for a long time, so we go out to win every match and increase morale in the team. The games may be a little difficult because they are consecutive, but our squad is large and the coach will give everyone a chance."

Speaking about the losses in the squad, Mikayilov clarified the situation of goalkeeper Emin Kurdov:

"Only our goalkeeper Emin Kurdov had a hand injury, he will join the team in April. The morale of the other futsal players is good and everyone is participating wholeheartedly in the training."
