"The competitions went very well for us."
This was stated to Idman.biz by Tamkin Khalilzadeh, a player of the Azerbaijani national minifootball team.
He evaluated the team's training camp in Montenegro and Slovakia. The national team member said that the 16-day preparation was productive: "Both international tournaments before the World Championship were a good experience for us. We won the competition in Montenegro, and took second place in Slovakia. In fact, we started the final match of the League of Nations very well. Although we fell behind in the score later, we found the strength to score 2 goals. However, in the last seconds, we conceded a goal due to a momentary carelessness. We lost in the penalty shootout. The experience we gained in both tournaments was very useful for us."
Khalilzadeh spoke about the preparation process for the upcoming World Championship: "I cannot express an opinion about the squad, this is a matter for the coach and his assistants. But I think that we are ready for this tournament as a team. Moreover, we have enough time to prepare. After a 2-3 day break, we will resume our training. We want to work on the shortcomings and be fully prepared for the World Cup."
The 31-year-old football player is not thinking about ending his career yet: "I don't like making plans for the future. I am in football today and I am happy. I want to win many titles with the national team and my club "Birbasha".
It should be noted that the minifootball World Championship with the participation of 32 teams will be held in Baku from May 21 to June 1. Slovenia, Mauritania and Bahrain are in Group A, where the Azerbaijani national team is also competing.
