Sahib Mammadov: Our best game in the European Championship was against Kazakhstan

The Azerbaijan national beach soccer team played its best game in the final stage of the European Championship against the Kazakhstan team.

This was stated by the head coach of the national team Sahib Mammadov in an interview with "Report".

He evaluated the team's performance in League B of the tournament:

"We were considered the favorites of the tournament. Unfortunately, we could not become champions, we took third place. If we had shown the game we showed against the Kazakhstan team in the semi-finals, I think we would have become champions. Unfortunately, we could not capitalize on scoring chances in the match against the Romanian national team. Luck was also on the opponent's side. In many cases, the goalkeepers saved the team from conceding goals. We also had shots that hit the post and went wide. In general, we showed the best game I wanted in this tournament against Kazakhstan and won with a score of 7:1. It is true that we also defeated Belgium in the group, but the team did not play so well".

The head coach plans to rejuvenate the team from the next season:

"The tournament is over, we have finished third. We plan to rejuvenate the team from the next season. I believe that next year we will become champions and represent Azerbaijan properly".

It should be noted that the Azerbaijan national team took third place in League B of the European Championship held in Viareggio, Italy.
