Rovshan Huseynli, the goalkeeper of the Azerbaijan national futsal team, has chosen "Araz-Nakhchivan" to play in the UEFA Champions League. Sport24.az reports that the 34-year-old goalkeeper made a statement to "Report" about this.
He said that although there were other offers, he preferred the Nakhchivan club: "We had a meeting with the head coach and the club management. Thank you very much for wanting to see me in "Araz-Nakhchivan" again. As I always said, no matter where I am, the offers of "Araz-Nakhchivan" are always my priority. Because it is my native club, my own home. I became Rovshan Huseynli in this club, and I can never forget it. There were other offers. I had already decided not to play in the Kazakhstan championship. I wanted to experience the excitement of the UEFA Champions League again. I wore the uniform of "Araz-Nakhchivan" for 8 years. This year I wanted to move to a team playing in the UEFA Champions League. That's why my choice was easy. "Araz-Nakhchivan"'s goal is always high. This also played a big role in my choice. If I want to achieve good results in international competitions, of course, I had to choose this team".
The goalkeeper assessed the potential of his team in the UEFA Champions League: "The draw has already taken place. The opponents are known, and I have collected some information for myself. Our potential is high, "Araz-Nakhchivan" is the favorite of the group. It remains to prove it on the field with our game. I think we will advance to the next stage as the leader".
It should be noted that R. Huseynli's last job was the "Astana" club of Kazakhstan.
The Nakhchivan representative will represent Azerbaijan in the UEFA Champions League. The team will face "Ljuti" (Austria), PYF (Scotland), and "Sparta" (Northern Ireland) in Group F. The matches of this group will take place in Austria between August 26-31.
