"The Azerbaijan national minifootball team goes to every game in the European Championship held in Slovakia to win."
This was stated by team member Ravan Karimov, touching upon the match they will hold against France today as part of the third round.
"We want to win this match as well. In general, we go to every game to win. We are aiming for the championship in the tournament," he said in a statement to report.az.
R.Karimov also touched upon the game in the second round, in which they beat Italy with three unanswered goals:
"The match in the second round was the first game for some players in this arena. We had not adapted to the field. The Italian team is a very defensive team. That's why it was difficult. Our game went as we wanted. We scored our goals in time and won. Thank God, there are no injuries. Some of our shots didn't work because of the field factor."
Let us remind you that the Azerbaijan-France match will start today at 15:15 Baku time. The Azerbaijan national team, which defeated Austria (1:0) in the first game and then Italy (3:0), secured a place in the playoffs. The tournament will end on June 4. Our team is currently the leader in Group F with 6 points. France has 4 points, Italy has 1 point. Austria, which lost both matches, has no points.
