PFL Became Champion in the First Futsal League

The 2025-2026 season in the First Futsal League has come to an end. Sport24.az reports that the Professional Football League team, which achieved a surprise result last year by defeating "Araz-Nakhchivan" in the final of the Azerbaijan Cup, proved this season that this result was not accidental.

PFL, which finished the main stage of the tournament as the leader, advanced to the final by defeating "Khan-Lankaran" with a score of 2-1 in the semi-final according to the regulations. Here, their opponent was the "Star Karqo" team. PFL, which lost the gold medal last year in a duel with "Baku Fire-2", played more carefully this time and won with a score of 4:2 and became the champion. 

The head coach of the team is Elkhan Samadov, the president of the Professional Football League. "The championship is an incredible feeling. Last year, we lost the gold medals at the last moment after losing to the "Baku Fire-2" team in the final. Although we won the national cup, our desire for the championship always remained. In addition to young people, our team also includes people who are passionate about futsal and have been playing together for many years. I am grateful to every member of our team for showing an example of being a real team, for their determination, and for their desire to win. I express my deep gratitude to the Azerbaijan Futsal Federation for organizing this competition," Samadov shared his impressions.
