The "Novruz Cup" international futsal tournament was held in Tallinn, Estonia, among Turkic-speaking peoples.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to AZERTAC that the event was organized by the Estonian-Azerbaijani community "Birlik".
Teams from Lithuania, Latvia, Finland and Estonia participated in the tournament. The competition brought together participants from different countries and cultures, demonstrating not only sportsmanship but also the spirit of unity.
According to the results of the draw, the teams were divided into two groups. Group A included "Baku" (Latvia), "AzeUnited" (Estonia) and "Birger" (Estonia). Group B included "Qarabağ Vilnius" (Lithuania), "Qarabağ Tallinn" (Estonia), "Chama" (Finland) and "Birger-2".
After the group stage, semi-final matches were held. In the first semi-final, the "Baku" team defeated "Birger-2" with a score of 2:0. In the second semi-final, "AzeUnited" won a tense battle against "Qarabağ Tallinn" with a score of 4:3.
In the match for third place, "Qarabağ Tallinn" defeated "Birger-2" with a score of 2:1 and finished the tournament in third place.
In the final match, "Baku" and "AzeUnited" met. The match ended with a 2:0 victory for the "AzeUnited" team.
At the end of the competitions, an award ceremony was held. The tournament participants were awarded diplomas, individual prizes, as well as cups and medals.
The main goal of the "Novruz Cup" tournament is to strengthen ties between Estonian youth and youth from neighboring countries, and according to the organizers, this goal has been successfully achieved. In the future, it is planned to expand the geography of the tournament and invite teams from other European countries.
