"Neftchi" IK, who defeated "Araz-Nakhchivan" with a score of 5:4 in the V round of the Azerbaijan Futsal Premier League, aspires to reach greater heights.
This was stated by the team's head coach Fuad Rzayev in an interview with "Report".
The specialist said that he assembled the team from scratch:
"Araz-Nakhchivan" has been the champion for years. In the first half, we were behind 0:2. In the second half, we made a comeback and scored 5 goals. The championship has just started, we understand that it will be difficult. Because we have assembled "Neftchi" IK almost from scratch. Only a few futsal players remained from last year's team. We will try to maintain the leadership until the end of the season."
F. Rzayev said that they will try to justify the trust of the management:
"This year, our goals are to take high places, as well as to become the winner of the Azerbaijan Cup. We want to justify the trust of the management and achieve good results. We understand that stronger games await us ahead, especially the matches against "Araz-Nakhchivan" will be difficult. They have 8 foreign futsal players in their squad. There are still three rounds ahead. I hope that the efforts of the children will not be wasted and we will realize the dream of becoming champions. We want to reach greater heights with this team and bring local futsal players to the national team."
It should be noted that "Neftchi" IK leads the Premier League table with 13 points. "Baku Fire" (11 points) is second, and "Araz-Nakhchivan" (10 points) is third.
