For the first time in history, an Azerbaijani futsal referee has been appointed to the final stage of the European Championship. Sport24.az reports that the press service of the Futsal Federation has released information.
FIFA referee Hikmat Gafarli will be one of the 32 referees who will officiate at the final stage of the European Championship - 2026, which will be co-hosted by Latvia, Lithuania and Slovenia. Gafarli will officiate matches that will take place in Latvia and Lithuania during the tournament.
It should be noted that the continental championship games will be held from January 21 to February 7, 2026.
