"Araz-Nakhchivan" has set the goal of becoming group winners in the main stage of the UEFA Futsal Champions League.
This was stated by the team captain Emin Kurdov in an interview with "Report".
He also assessed the games they played in the preliminary round: "We won all three games in the preliminary round. The biggest and most confident victory was in the match against the host Austrian team. We had previously faced "Sparta Belfast" from the opponents and won with a score of 7:1. This time we defeated them with a score of 9:1. We did not know the Scottish and Austrian teams. We were very well prepared for the games both physically and tactically. I think that all three teams in the preliminary stage were the same in terms of level. The team has set the goal of becoming group winners in the main stage. The goals are big this year. As you can see, we have formed a good team. The atmosphere is fine, everything is in order."
The goalkeeper stated that they only know the Romanian team from the opponents in the main stage: "We only have information about the Romanian team from the opponents in the main stage. The others are representatives of the Netherlands and Luxembourg. We do not have detailed information about them. I think that the opponents in the next stage are more difficult. However, our team's performance, condition, and level are very good. From the beginning of the year, the goal was set to become group winners. I believe that we will pass this stage as well."
The experienced futsal player said that they will leave for a trip in late October: "We will continue training and prepare for the Azerbaijan championship. We will leave on October 28, and we will play the day after."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani champion, which is in Group VII in the main stage of the Champions League, will compete with the clubs "United Galati" (Romania), "Differdange 03" (Luxembourg) and "Taigers Roermond" (Netherlands).
