The Azerbaijan Futsal Federation (AFF) has explained the reason for not admitting the "Yasamal Baku" team to the Premier League.
Mahal Mammadov, the head of the press service of the organization, made a statement to "Report" about this.
The federation official confirmed that the team, which took the last place last season, wanted to participate in the competition again:
"They also wanted to participate. However, the club had no financial support. This was a bit risky. That is, the team might not have continued until the end of the season. We considered both this and the performance of the previous season. Also, based on the relevant clause of the statute, we created conditions for the participation of the "Lankaran" team this time."
M.Mammadov said the following regarding other applications:
"The Federation is always open to the applications of teams and evaluates them immediately. It was decided to include the teams we announced for the new season. "Lankaran" is new to them. A meeting was held with the management of this team, we got acquainted with their conditions and plans, and a "green light" was given for their participation in the championship. I would also like to note that, as in previous years, the rent for the halls for holding the games and the salaries of the essential staff for organizing the games will be covered by the federation. In addition, no money will be taken for membership fees for participation, as well as for ordering legionnaires."
He also spoke about the debutant "Lankaran":
"We got acquainted with their plans. They want to do good things. Certain preparations must be made and experience must be gained to hold games in the region. This is possible not for the near future, but in the future. The Federation always provides its support so that games are organized in the regions. However, we are in favor of doing this in a planned manner, not blindly."
The official of the organization added that there will be no significant changes in the next season:
"In the Premier League, the games will again consist of 4 rounds - 20 rounds. The team with the most points will be declared the champion. In the First League, this time not 12, but 10 teams will compete in one round - 9 rounds. Then the first 4 teams will participate in the play-offs. Play-off games will also consist of one match. The winners will meet in the final, and the losers will determine the bronze medalist."
It should be noted that the season in the Premier League will start on September 18. "Araz-Nakhchivan", "Neftchi IK", "Baku Fire", "Shusha MFK", U-19 and "Lankaran" will compete in the championship.
