British Mercedes driver George Russell says he doesn't understand why so many in Formula 1 want to change the current power units.
Idman.Biz reports that after the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix held on May 24, the winner of the race, Andrea Kimi Antonelli, extended his advantage over his teammate George Russell to 43 points.
"I loved it. I thought it was fantastic. I haven't had a fight like that for years. Probably not since Bahrain in 2014 with Lewis [Hamilton] and Nico [Rosberg]. And these new engines allow it. I don’t know why anyone would want to change them - because we’ve had great racing in Melbourne, China, Kimi and I had a great battle today and yesterday - and that’s only possible because of the way these power units are designed," Russell told The Race.
It should be reminded that Russell was leading the race before retiring and was fighting for first place with his teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli. After his teammate's retirement, Antonelli confidently won the race.
