Formula 1 organizers are considering several options to change the start time of the Miami Grand Prix due to the threat of lightning.
İdman.Biz reports this with reference to PlanetF1.
According to the source, two main scenarios are being discussed: moving the start to 10:00 AM local time (6:00 PM Baku time) or 1:00 PM (9:00 PM Baku time) instead of the scheduled 4:00 PM.
A final decision is expected after the qualifying session. The FIA will meet with FOM to approve the final race schedule. It is reported that several teams are already pushing for an earlier start to reduce the risk of the race being stopped or disrupted mid-race.
The possible postponement is due to weather conditions: the probability of precipitation on Sunday exceeds 40%, and strict lightning safety rules are in effect in the region. Public events must be suspended in the event of lightning or thunderstorms.
