At the Miami stage of the Formula 1 World Championship, the Mercedes team has taken responsibility for the poor starts of its young driver, Kimi Antonelli. The Italian driver lost several positions at the start in both the sprint race and the main grand prix.
Idman.Biz reports that despite winning four pole positions in four races, the German representative has not yet been able to enter the first corner as the leader even once. Team boss Toto Wolff said that this is the team's fault, not the driver's. According to him, the engineers are unable to provide the drivers with the necessary information about the clutch and the gripping force.
Toto Wolff emphasized that even if the team wins all the grand prix races held this year, it must solve the problems at the start. He noted that the gap with the competitors is not large and that mistakes at the start could lead to serious point losses in the future. Currently, engineers are continuing their research to eliminate this technical malfunction.
