"Red Bull" Formula 1 driver Isack Hadjar was dissatisfied with his performance after the Canadian Grand Prix qualifying session.
Idman.Biz reports that the 21-year-old French driver finished seventh at the "Circuit Gilles Villeneuve" track in Montreal. He was only 0.028 seconds behind his teammate Max Verstappen in the third segment of qualifying. Verstappen will start the race from sixth place, while Hacar will start from seventh.
Hacar harshly criticized himself after the result. According to him, there was an opportunity to achieve a better result in the decisive laps:
"I'm very disappointed. Since Miami, I haven't been able to do what I want in Q3. I make mistakes, I'm not precise enough in the last laps and I overload the car. I'm wasting time. It's a pity because we had a very good car and I should have been higher".
The French driver said that the failure was due to several reasons. He emphasized that the "Red Bull" is not easy to drive and that the car requires a very delicate balance. Hacar also said that holding only two races in the last eight weeks made it difficult to maintain the rhythm.
The young driver also admitted that the main problem is related to his mindset:
"I need to think a little less and let myself go. This is not something I'm good at. I like to think and be in control, but it didn't help this time".
It should be noted that "Mercedes" driver George Russell won the pole position of the Canadian Grand Prix.
