Incidents in the final laps of the Miami Grand Prix in Formula 1 have increased the workload of the stewards. After the race, investigations were launched into several incidents involving Charles Leclerc, George Russell, and Max Verstappen.
Idman.Biz reports that Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc is under investigation for three different incidents. The Monegasque driver is accused of repeatedly leaving the track limits to gain an advantage, causing a collision with George Russell in turn 17 on the final lap, and driving a damaged car in a dangerous condition after the accident.
Mercedes driver George Russell was involved in two different incidents. He is under the stewards' spotlight for both the collision with Leclerc and the contact with Max Verstappen in the first turn. As a result of that contact, Russell's car's front wing was damaged.
The day was also intense for world champion Max Verstappen. In addition to the incident with Russell, he is also suspected of crossing the line at the pit lane exit. In addition, the accident between Liam Lawson and Pierre Gasly has also been included in the official investigation.
It is worth recalling that most of the incidents occurred at the Miami International Autodrome seconds before the end of the race. It is expected that the final results of the race may change after the stewards make their decisions.
