The "Ferrari" team has demonstrated its commitment to strategic innovation with the new "SF-26" project during pre-season testing in Bahrain. Two new systems tested in Sakhir – FTM (Flick Tail Mode) and a fully rotating flap rear wing – are a unique interpretation of the 2026 technical regulations.
Idman.Biz, referring to "RacingNews365", reports that rival teams have already begun to assess the advantages that these two systems will bring. According to reports, the new rear wing alone provides a speed increase of at least 8 km/h on the straights. The FTM system is expected to have a more significant impact on overall lap time.
Technical analyst Paolo Filisetti states that the complexity of these solutions lies not in their production, but in their integration into the overall concept of the car.

Fully rotating rear wing: The development of this system required a long-term design process. Maranello engineers calculated months in advance how this rotation would reduce drag and affect the operation of the diffuser.

FTM system: It took approximately six months of work to incorporate this technology into the "SF-26" project. The effectiveness of the system depends directly on the exhaust gas pressure and the operating mode of the power unit.
The biggest obstacle for rival teams is not copying these technologies, but the extensive preparation required to adapt them to their existing aerodynamic philosophies. This means that "Ferrari" has managed to outpace its rivals in terms of time, even before the season starts.
