He also emphasized that the attitude towards young English specialists is not always positive. According to information published by the BBC, Rooney considers Carrick the right candidate for the club.
"Yes, I think it's not a question of whether he will be head coach, but when it will happen. It's just that he is a young English specialist, and for many, this is not always perceived positively. But Michael Carrick is smart, he is a really good coach. I think that if everything goes right, he can lead this team as much as he wants," said Rooney.
