Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has appeared before a judge at Southwark Crown Court. The 32-year-old, who currently plays for Spanish club Villarreal, pleaded not guilty to two new counts of assault alleged to have taken place in December 2020.
Idman.Biz reports that with these new allegations, the total number of charges against Partey has risen to eight (seven counts of rape and one of sexual assault). The alleged incidents are said to have taken place between 2020 and 2022 against four different women. The footballer has been released on bail until the trial, but with strict conditions, including a requirement not to contact the victims in any way.
According to "SkySport", the trial, initially scheduled for November 2026, could be postponed to January 2027 due to the consolidation of all charges into one proceeding.
It should be noted that Thomas Partey transferred to Villarreal last summer, and the club has allowed him to play, stating that they believe in his presumption of innocence.
