Portugal national team captain Cristiano Ronaldo has announced his position before the away match against Ireland in the qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.
Idman.Biz reports that Ronaldo said in an interview with A Bola that he thinks there will be a harsh reaction against him at the Aviva stadium, and emphasized that this situation may have a positive psychological effect on the team.
"The stadium will boo me, I'm used to it, and I hope that maybe it will take the pressure off the other players. What I want most is to enjoy the game. It's not a decisive factor, but it's almost decisive. We know that a victory will take us to the 2026 World Cup. We want to solve all the issues now," said Ronaldo.
Ronalu added that he knows when he is useful, when he plays well and when he doesn't.
"The quality of the game should always come first. The Irish national team will play with a low block. The fans will support them, they will be even more encouraged, and the throws will be almost like corner kicks. We have to be fully prepared for this," added the captain.
The game will start on November 13 at 23:45 Baku time.
